          Gianandrea Gavazzeni was an Italian pianist, conductor (mostly in opera), composer, and musicologist.

          He was born in Bergamo, Italy. His father was a lawyer and a member of parliament who appreciated and understood music and opera. Gavazzeni was introduced to the theater stage by his mother.
